Week 4 Through 6- Suicide Prevention

Every year in America 500,000 people attempt suicide every year.  I believe everyone knows someone that has tried or carried through with suicide.

What are some reasons that people want to and/or commit suicide?

Depression, despair, hopelessness, self-loathing, substance abuse to name a few.

We as family, friends, Christians; What can we do to help others who are suffering with the above?  What do we say to someone that says, "I want to kill myself?"

We can plant a seed...We can take it to GOD in Scripture and Prayer.  We oftentimes see people suffering and we do nothing! And yes, I am talking about myself as well!!

We can be Victorious!!!  Let's go to some Scriptures that Prayerfully can help someone in need.

I Peter 5:7-9  Casting all Your care upon HIM (GOD); for HE careth for You.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

We have to be Victorious over the devil, because he is like the roaring lion and he is looking and seeking everyday to take over our minds and emotions to destroy us!
"Misery does love company"

Jeremiah 33:3  Call into ME, and I will answer Thee, and shew (show) Thee great and mighty be things, which thou knowest not.

GOD is Omnipresent, He is around us 24/7!!!  All we have to do is call or shout out to HIM in time of need and HE is there!!!  I have noticed on several occasions when I shout out JESUS, HE comes to my rescue immediately!!!  Try it for Yourself!!!  In Hebrews 13:5 Paul reminds us that GOD has already told us that HE will Never Leave Thee (Us) Or Forsake Thee (Us)!!!

I John 4:4  Ye are of GOD, little children, and we have overcome them: because Greater is HE that is in You, than he that is in the world.

If we know that GOD is in Us and with Us, we have overcome the worries and afflictions of this world!!!

John 3:16  GOD so Loved the world, that HE gave HIS only BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

GOD has already given us Eternal life through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST!!!  We can live Victorious while here on earth through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST!!!

Hebrews 13:3  Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves in the body.

We are to have brotherly and sisterly love for one another always remembering if one of us is suffering, we are to take on their suffering and seek help for them.
Amen

I Pray and Hope this post reaches someone in need and that it can help and save someone from dispair.
Amen
