Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!!!-Week 3 & Week 4

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!!!

Martin Luther King, Jr. (born Michael King, Jr.) was born on January 15, 1929, an African American Man, became a Baptist Minister and Social Equality Activist.  Dr. King led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, starting from the mid-1950's until His death by assassination on April 4, 1968. Today He would be 89 years old.

Today, I was Blessed to attend a Celebration in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The keynote speaker was Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee. Dr. Lee is the sister of the famous African American Singer, Diana Ross.  Dr. Lee delivered an Awesome message. She started off with a quote from one of Dr. King's famous and studious speeches.

The Quote:

Dr. Lee asked the audience to identify themselves in age groups: those born before 1960, those born between 1960-1985, and those born 1986 and after.  She stated to those born before 1960 that, "they are the ones that actually eyewitness and some participated in the Civil Rights Movement and that this group is responsible for passing the message of how hard the struggle was, to gain the Social Equality that Black People have today." The next group, born between 1960-1985, she explains that, "they benefited and is still benefiting from the great struggle of  The Civil Rights Movement and is responsible for keeping the message alive by showing gratitude and passing on the message."  Last, "those that were born in 1986 and after that, they must keep the torch alive for Social Equality and continue to fight for what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others fought and died for."

Today, I thank Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others for putting their lives on the line for Our Social Equality that we enjoy today.

I thank God for HIS Undying Love for all of us!!! That over Two Thousand years ago HE sacrificed His only begotten son JESUS to save all of us, so that we might have the right to Eternal Life in Heaven forever!!!

Psalm 79:2
The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat into the field of the Heaven, the flesh of thy Saints unto the beasts of the earth.

Matthew 5:10
