Reflections From Some of First Week's Readings

Genesis 1-2: Deals with GOD'S creation. It took 7 days to create the Heavens and the earth.

Genesis 3: Deals with the serpents deceit that leads to the fall of Adam and Eve, which caused creation curses. For Eve and the serpent, GOD put enmity(hate) between it and her seed (us). GOD said it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel. GOD all caused for the woman to have great sorrow(pain) during labor and GOD told Adam that he would curse the ground for thy sake and in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.

Genesis 4: Cain slays his brother Abel

Genesis 5: Explains Adam's family line to Noah.

Genesis 6: By this time GOD is wrought with how HIS created beings are so wicked and plans to destroy HIS creation with a flood, all but Noah and his family and selected animals( male & female). Thiis is Noah is instructed by GOD to build an Ark for protection against the Flood.

Gennesis 7: The flood klasts forty days and forty nights.

Genesis 8: The dove is sent out by Noah to find dry land. After the 3rd time of being sent out by Noah, the dove did not return. When Noah and his family departed out of the Ark, Noah builded an alter unto the LORD and offered a burnt offering unto the alter of the clean beasts. When the LORD smelled the sweet savor, HE said HE would not again curse the ground again, for HE knew that man's heart is evil from his youth.

Genesis 9: GOD blesses Noah, instructiing him to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. GOD makes HIS covenant(promise) with man by setting HIS rainbow in the cloud. GOD will bring a cloud over the earth and HE will remember HIS covenant that the waters will no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Noah had three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japheth. Noah became a husbandman and planted a vineyard. He became drunk one day and laid naked. His son Ham, which is the father of Canaan, saw Noah's nakedness and did not cover him up. When Noah awakes he knew what his son Ham had done, and because of this Noah cursed Ham's son Canaan to be a servant unto both Shem and Japheth. Noah lived 950 years.
